developing story out of san francisco. three men were shot at a nightclub at south beach early this morning. shooting happened about 1:15 at a club called 330 ritz. investigators don't know what led up to the shooting. police are reviewing surveillance tapes outside the nightclub. the victims were all men in their 20s. one is in critical condition. the other two suffered nonlife threatening injuries. >>> also in san francisco, arson investigators are calling a fire that happened about a block from the transamerica pyramid this morning suspicious. firefighters battled the flames at a restaurant on commercial street for about an hour. the cause of the fire is under investigation. >>> on tuesday, the u.s. supreme court will for the first time take up the issue of same-sex marriage. 6 of the 9 justices are catholic, though they have taken an oath to decide cases based on the constitution, the catholic church itself has taken a strong stance against day marriage. monte francis sat down within oun o one-on-one with salvador cordileone. >> reporter: the u unapologetic when it comes to his

one east bay city. details are next. >>> a san francisco supervisor says it's time to do more to protect women from planned parenthood protesters after complaints that protesters have been harassing anyone going into the clinic. the group doesn't believe it's breaking any laws by setting up just outside of the clinic's entrance. there's already a law that requires protesters to stay at least eight feet away from anyone's clients or workers entering a clinic. the group called 40 days for life is a nationwide anti-abortion group but san francisco supervisor david campos says that law, the current law, is not being enforced. >> the effort here is to really strike the right balance between the rights that people have to express themselves and the right balance of people, the right they have to access health care including reproductive health. >> we're not going away. anything that saves lives, saves babies is obviously bad for business because planned parenthood is the big baby killing business so we're here to save lives. >> so instead of current eight-foot rule, campos will introdu

bin laden's compound, but that has not been confirmed. >>> in san francisco, a 19-year-old college student is dead after being shot in the mission district. it happened around 3:00 this morning near 24th and bryant streets, not far from sf general. kimberly tere is there now with more. >> reporter: diane, that young man was shot in front of his home while on his spring break. his family tells us that his father heard the gunshots and came downstairs and found him lying on the stairs. the 19-year-old was taken to the hospital where he later died. police say he and a friend were walking home about 3:00 this morning when a car drove up, a hispanic man got out and asked him if he was in a gang and shot him. police and his family say he has no gang ties, his cousins told us he's a good guy who is loved by everyone and is very dedicated to sports. he graduated from archbishop riordan and was on spring break from lewis and clark college in portland. the family said he was supposed to head back to school on monday. so far police have not made any arrests. live in san francisco, kimberly te

francisco and points close in the next 50 to 56 minutes. so, again, if you're in san francisco, down the peninsula, also in the north bay, keep that umbrella handy and be prepared for wet roadways as we head throughout 6:00, 7:00, 8:00 tonight. speaking of rainfall, we've had a very lackluster 2013, look at these numbers, san jose with $1.47 this year, the average 8.35. that now puts us in a deficit for the calendar year at 6.88. so one of the driest calendar years on record in the bay area. let's get you outside to the live sky network. many of you will get less in san jose, a few raindrops will help the allergies and air quality. foster city, you can see pointed toward the coastline some of those shower cells we tracked offshore. that will eventually move in for you. and in san francisco we've had a little bit of drizzle off and on at the immediate coastline. eventually, yes, we'll get that rainfall here as well. let's get a look at tpattern. this area of low circulation is out in the pacific, associated cold front. the main thing driving all of this moisture right now is this subt

we had a little bit of fog rolling in here across the san francisco area earlier today. now it's mainly up against the coastline. down in downtown san francisco. you'll see the cloud cover beyond the golden gate bridge. another night where we will have fog forming at the immediate coastline. also in the north bay. in san jose there's the haze. pollen levels high and also air quality at moderate to low levels currently. storm track poised off the north. the jet stream out here is making a beeline towards washington. just a few hundred miles away from us. but unfortunately that is not going to be good enough to get us rainfall in the next two to three days. we'll have this hazy sunshine producing inland. and a few more 80s expected wednesday. keep in mind it's going to be a mixed bag. temperatures in the 50s and 60s on the coastline. and we'll have slight cooling by thursday, but i think you'll overall love this forecast as we head into the seven-day. 49 in fremont. 46 in san jose. and 50 in san francisco. daytime highs on wednesday will top out in the upper 70s. a few low 80s. 78

dead at the scene. and in san francisco early saturday morning, another vehicle pursuit ended near candlestick park with a daly city police officer shooting and killing a suspect. lay thursday night in sonoma county, a sheriff's deputy shot and killed a kidnapping suspect after he led them on a chase with the victim in the car. the woman he is accused of kidnapping was not hurt. a fifth officer-involved shooting happened in union city about 10:00 last night. officers shot and killed an armed man that they said pointed a gun at them following a traffic stop. now all of these shootings are subject to internal review, and the officers involved have been placed on administrative leave. live in hayward tonight, monte francis, nbc bay area news. >> all right, thank you, monte. now police in san jose have not released the identity of the suspect monte mentioned who was shot and killed after a wild high-speed chase on city streets in the middle of the afternoon. the chase started around 2:30. officers say they may release the suspect's name tomorrow. >>> on tuesday, two santa cruz police o

mid and also high level cloud cover. also up into san francisco, an incredible view here across downtown. we do have that fog just offshore. a bit of cloud cover. but generally here a fantastic evening shaping up. here's what we have happening right now. it's been very familiar, at least for winter. we've been so unusually dry in 2013. storm track is out here. plenty of rainfall. but it's 2,000 miles away. it's all going to continue to stream up into alaska and mainly canada. washington and oregon not even getting much rain the next couple of days. high pressure building offshore. that will keep it mild tuesday and wednesday. also a slight offshore wind that looks to keep those interior valleys the warmest. but it's not going to be warm everywhere. this will be another event where if you're headed to the coastline, you'll need to keep that jacket in the back seat. temperatures from the 50s and 60s there with patchy fog to start, but 60s and 70s inland and by wednesday that will be topping out where we could even have a few 80 this is the forecast. tomorrow morning, we get the fo
